About This Event

The 2nd International Meeting on RNA & RNases will take place in Naples from July 7-9, 2027, organized by Prof. Elio Pizzo and Prof. Antonello Merlino from the University Federico II.

Objectives

Following the success of the 1st edition in Barcelona (July 3-4, 2025), which featured 53 contributions from 14 countries, 16 invited speakers, and 13 oral talks, this second event focuses on RNA biology, RNases, RNA-based therapies, and related mechanisms. It aims to foster exchanges among scientists on RNA structure, degradation, modifications, RNA-protein interactions, and therapeutic applications.

The Church of the Monastery of Saints Marcellino and Festo is the most precious part of the large convent complex, assigned in 1907 to the University of Naples and now fully restored.
The restoration of the structures, heavily damaged by the air raid of 1941 and the earthquake of 1980, involved the entire convent insula resulting from the annexation of the Benedictine monastery of Saints Festo and Desiderio to the Basilian convent of Saints Marcellino and Pietro.

Today the structure consists of a hall with 156 seats, a large cloister, and a portico available for the organization of buffet services.
